On Wednesday the 26th of August, BurkeAir attended the WA Refrigeration and Airconditioning Industries Awards Night.
The night is organised to pay tribute to those people that are the future of the air conditioning and refrigeration industry, namely the apprentices. Stand-out apprentices are commended for their achievements in front of their peers.
After BurkeAir's own Stefan Lauk winning apprentice of the year in 2008, we were proud to see BurkeAir apprentice Steven Woods taking out the gold medal in the Western Australian section of the World Skills Competition in 2009. As part of winning the gold medal, Steven will go on to represent Western Australia in the National World Skills Competition, to be held during ARBS in Sydney 12-14 April 2010. The winner will then go on to compete in the International World Skills Competition.
We are very proud of Steven's achievments and will continue to support him. Below you can see Steven accept his award from WA Minister of Training Peter Collier.

Another award that was presented on the night was the award of 'Outstanding Performer and Dedication to Apprentice Training'. We were awarded this award again this year, making BurkeAir the only company to win this award twice in the history of the award. Special mention was made of the effort put in by our senior staff for the extra effort that is put in the training of our apprentices, to make sure they are well versed in all of the skills required to become well rounded trades.
Below is a photo of our Managing Director Tim Burke accepting the award for Outstanding Performer and Dedication to Apprentice Training.

Another great result for BurkeAir!!
